About

We're Luke and Pat.

Brothers, born and raised in Portland, Oregon. We've been building software for over fifteen years, somewhere past fifty apps and platforms, nineteen of them on this site with screenshots. When you hire Synergetx you get the two of us. Nobody else touches the code.

The two of us

Luke Weisensee

Luke Weisensee

Co-founder

Luke has a computer science degree from Portland State University. He builds the backends for businesses whose problems don't fit an off-the-shelf tool: multi-tenant data, roles and permissions, payments, integrations, and the reporting on top. Much of that work is regulated, so he's spent years translating HIPAA, FERPA, and FTC requirements into systems that hold up under audit and under load. He built Cydoc's patient questionnaires, auth, and Stripe payments on AWS over two years, and the subscription and attribution systems behind Mangamo's reading app.

Pat Weisensee

Pat Weisensee

Co-founder

Pat has a computer science degree from Seattle University and started out at Tyemill in Seattle, building economics and investment research software. He handles the mobile end of things: design, shared libraries, build pipelines, and keeping an eye on what's actually worth adopting versus what's just new. He shipped Navien's contractor app and led the mobile teams behind the store task app at Walmart, Home Depot, and Lowe's.

How we work

  • You talk to us, not an account manager. We reply the same day.
  • Both of us are on the first call, and on the calls after it whenever schedules line up.
  • We're in Portland, Oregon. Pacific time, US phone numbers, English.
  • Only the two of us touch your code. No handoff to a junior team, no subcontractors.
  • References for every project on this site, on request.
  • Top Rated on Upwork with a 100% job success score and years of five-star reviews from clients who kept coming back.

Most of our work lately is Supabase, Postgres, Next.js, Node, TypeScript, React Native, AWS, Google Cloud, and Stripe. We've also kept a B2B ordering system running against IBM systems for five years, so we're not precious about stacks.

What we get called for

What brings you here?

You built an app with AI and want a real engineer to look at it before launch.

We read the code, find what will break with real users and real data, fix the auth, data, and structure problems, and leave you with something you can keep building on. We don't rewrite for sport.

Your production software needs someone to take it over.

The developer left, or the platform needs polish, or it's just not reliable? We've inherited other people's code many times.

You need an independent technical audit.

Architecture, security, data handling, and whether the build actually does what the spec says. You get a written report that says what passes, what doesn't, and what to do about it, in plain language your lawyer and your board can read.

Your business runs on spreadsheets, Shopify, email, and a dozen other places.

We build the operations and data tooling that pulls it together, and the automation on top of it, for teams that have outgrown their tools but don't need an enterprise system.
